This is a post of a SUGGESTED healing spec for shamans. As I am not the one paying for this respec, or playing a healing shaman, I can afford to go all out and put 50 points in the healing tree. This is my personal opinion of how healing shaman should spec, so just feel free to improvise and use this as a guideline.
RESTORATION points:
5/5 Imp Healing Wave (Necessity)
5/5 Imp Tidal Focus (Mecessity)
2/2 Imp Reinc (You shouldnt be dying enough to need this)
5/5 Healing Focus (Important)
3/3 Healing Grace (Necessity)
1/1 Totemic Mastery (Necessity)
5/5 Restorative Totems(Necessity)
5/5 Tidal Mastery (Just Cool, not needed)
3/3 Healing Way (Necessity)
1/1 Nature'sSwiftness (Necessity)
3/3 Focused Mind (Necessity)
5/5 Purification (Necessity)
1/1 Mana Tide (YOUR NOT A HEALING SPECCED SHAMAN IF YOU DONT HAVE THIS LOLOLOL)
3/3 Nature'sBlessing (Necessity)
2/2 Imp Chain Heal (Important)
1/1 Earth Shield (Questionable)
ENHANCEMENT points:
5/5 Ancestral Knowledge - Needed... its a bigger deal than u might think.
1/1 Two-Handed Axes and Maces - You never know when you might get a drop and need to respec for it.
EXPLANATION OF GOAL:
Essentially, you want to be able to spam heals, measure heals, heal without help, and have your heals cost as little as possible. Improved cast times and Reduction of healing spell costs (aswell as impressive mana pool) is what this spec is based upon. Imp Reincarnation is stupid, if you have a good healing spec and still wipe, get yourself a new group. SERIOUSLY... unless its a raid.
Healing Grace, Purification, Imp Chain Heal and Nature'es Blessing are delicious, especially added on with some decent +Healing Gear. You will find that if you have enough +Healing gear, you wont be using anything more than lesser healing wave a lot of the time.
Totemic Mastery is insane. Your totem range is increased impressively, therefore you can get the nice buffs helping both the tank, melee and casters/ranged at the same time. In raid boss fights especially (they last long) they will be greatly beneficial.
Healing Way and Ancestral Healing a awesome too, especially (once again) in raid fights, especially when you have a couple of shammies healing one of the tanks.
Healing Focus, Focused Mind and Nature's Swiftness are great ways to make certain you will get a heal off in time, even when taking certain amounts of dmg. Mana Tide totem is simply beautiful for all casters, especially healers, in long fights, and can make or break a boss fight.
Earthshield sucks in my opinion. It doesnt really seem worth it to me, when you can essentially use that point in something that will keep you going in PvP and farming or whatever is your fancy.
Tidal Mastery and Natures Guardian is cool, but not really needed. I believe you should do this: 5/5 Ancestral Knowledge, 5/5 Thundering Strikes, 2/2 Imp Ghost Wolf and 1/1 Two-handed axes and maces, then just follow the spec i mentioned above, selecting what you want and discarding others. I CANT STRESS enough, it is important for you to spec what you feel most comfortable doing, and improving all the abilities you use best. IF however, you lack experience in the healing tree, use this spec, you can modify it later if it really doesnt work for you.
Feel free to whisper me when I am online to discuss this or other classes healing (im experienced... with both healing and Hendrix.)
